Ms. Jyotsna Majumdar
(Associated Since 1984)

Jyotsna Majumdar is associated with ACORDASIA since 1984.  During the process, she has worked in various aspects with the organisation, both internal and external.

  • 10+ years of experience in handling Administration, HR & Training including in-house Performance Appraisal.
  • 15 years of experience in :
    • Client-Relations Management & Client-Communication,
    • Management & Co-ordination of Large-Group Interactive Processes with multi-stakeholders (500+ participants),
    • Need Assessment of various stakeholders in companies & organisations.
    • Grass-root level Training for NGOs and communities, in areas, such as nutrition, health/reproductive health, immunization, water & sanitation, etc.
    • Communication through folk-media.
  • She has done B. Com. from Delhi University, and MBA (in HRM) from National Institute of Business Management.

Ms. Jyotsna Majumdar is multi-skill and communicates and coordinates with clients, gets engaged with training and capacity building as well as report preparation.


Prof. Jaya Indiresan
Advisor - Research & Capacity Building
(Associated Since 1987)

Prof. Jaya Indiresan was formerly professor of Higher Education at the National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration, New Delhi. Earlier she had taught at Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. She has been a visiting professor at the University of Manitoba, Canada and a Visiting Scholar at the University of Michigan, USA. Currently she is a free lance consultant to several national and international organizations.

She has authored three books: 1) Education for Women's Empowerment: Gender Positive Initiatives in Pace Setting Women's Colleges; 2) Institutionalisation of Innovation in Higher Education; and 3) Inclusion vs Exclusion: A study of Women in Police.

She has produced training manuals on (1) Women in Academic Leadership; (2) Decision Making and Team Building Skills for Women Managers, sponsored by the University Grants Commission. She has several research publications in national and international journals, produced several research monographs and undertaken several evaluation studies for various organizations.

Her areas of interest include Institution Building and Human Resource Development, with special reference to women. She is deeply involved in training for capacity building in various sectors like educational administrators, women in agriculture, women in police and women in science and technology.

She is also deeply involved in several initiatives for the empowerment of the socially and economically challenged youth. She has been involved in a major project on mainstreaming Madrasa Education in Andhra Pradesh.

Prof. Jaya Indiresan first started as a full time consultant at ACORDASIA in 1987. Subsequently she has continued her close association and active involvement in various projects and activities of ACORDASIA. Agricultural Communication and Training, Gender Training, Research and Survey and Documentation.

Prof. Jaya has consistently given her innovated ideas to ACORDASIA.


Dr. Ashraf Ali Khan
Advisor - Extension and Community Outreach
(Associated Since 2011)

Dr. Ashraf Ali Khan holds a senior position on teaching faculty of the Department of Adult, Continuing Education and Extension, Jamia Millia Islamia (a Central University), New Delhi. He obtained Master's Degree in Science (Zoology) from Aligarh Muslim University, Uttar Pradesh and also did his Master's in Social Work from Delhi School of Social Work of University of Delhi. He holds Doctorate Degree in Extension Education from Jamia Millia Islamia. Dr. Khan has worked in past with some of the prestigious institutions including Vishwa Yuvak Kendra, New Delhi and heading Prerana Population Resource Centre, an apex training centre for a tripartite initiative of Governments of India and Uttar Pradesh and USAID. He also has rendered consultancy services to organizations/projects including UNICEF Somalia and India offices, Centre for Development and Population Activities, Washington DC, USA.

Besides other publications Dr. Khan has also authored a book titled "Family Planning Women Service Provider"-Issues in Capacity Building and Performance.

Dr. Ashraf Ali Khan has voluntary associations with Prerana, a Non Govt. Organization as one of the "Founder Members", India Islamic Cultural Centre, New Delhi, Dr. Zakir Hussain Memorial Welfare Society, New Delhi, and Family Planning Association of India, New Delhi.

Dr. Ashraf Ali Khan is been closely associated with community outreach programme of ACORDASIA and makes a significant different to ACORDASIA work.


Ms Kamal Preet Singh
(Associated Since 2008)

Kamal Preet Singh – Former Head, Governance & Social Justice, British Council, India.Science graduate, Masters in Public Administration. Honoured with the award of MBE by the British Government in recognition of her contribution to areas of gender equality, child rights, public sector reforms etc. Extensive experience of developing Indo-UK partnerships with central/State governments, institutions, academics, NGOs and international agencies in women's rights, governance, social justice and corporate social responsibility (with management educators). Excellent skills in project/training design, delivery, evaluation, documentation, strategic planning, capacity building, networking and communication. From 2009-2012 Member of National Consultative Committee of University Grants Commission's project on women in higher education. Currently involved in capacity building of organisations on implementing the Act on Prevention of Sexual Harassment of Women at the Workplace.

Publications and articles include: She too can build and mould the nation, a training manual for elected women councillors in Punjab; Development of micro-enterprises by women; Counselling Skills for agents of change. Business Ethics and Corporate Social Responsibility: Time for Action Now, published in The Effective Executive, of the Icfai University Press; October 2009.

Have been invited as a resource person at several national and international events, such as (i) at the All-India Mayors’ Conference, Chandigarh, December 2007 (ii) Orientation workshop on Convention on Elimination of all forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) at Birla Institute of Technology & Science, Pilani.
Kamal has made a major contribution on various projects in ACORDASIA since 2005 including : Yamuna Action Plan – II Public Participation and Awareness, Drug De-addiction and various surveys and studies, workshops, capacity building training and documentation etc. as well as contributed significantly planning and designing processes in ACORDASIA – a consortium partner with Koreth Consulting (P) Ltd.

In Koreth Consulting she makes major contribution to studies, surveys, documentation and collaboration with its consortium partners.

Interests include: walking, retreats and theatre for social change.

Ms. Abha Saxena
Representative for South India – ACORDASIA
(Associated Since January 2015)

Ms. Abha Saxena, the Bangalore team Lead member has over 2 decades of experience (both nationally and internationally) in the Corporate Sector as well as Social Sector.

She has held the responsibility of building CSR initiatives, and has worked as VP-Programs at NASSCOM Foundation. She has been a Rotarian since 1997, and has close working links with the Traffic Police. She has done BA in Psychology & Post Graduate Diploma in Sales & Marketing Management. In addition, she has undergone a CSR course with the World Bank Institute and IFC.


Ms. Seemantinee Khot
Our Partner & Representative in Maharashtra – ACORDASIA

Ms. Seemantinee Khot, the Pune & Mumbai Lead member with Masters in ‘Urban and Rural Community Development’ has over 3 decades experience with the Corporate, bi-lateral, UN Sectors, and has been global head for CSR with a leading Solar energy company.

She has experience in strategic planning and managing comprehensive development programs, coordinating multi-stakeholders analysis, policy-formulation, and facilitating use-focused and learning-oriented evaluations of development programs, both in India and Overseas.


Mr. Narendra Joshi
Consortium Partner & Consultant

He has extensive experience of 20 years both in audio and visual Mass Communication productions, and has also been teaching these subjects to young aspirants in various Institutes. Narendra Joshi is involved in ACORDASIA’s projects on social development and CSR related activities for more than a decade.


Ms. Vandana Sareen
Project Coordinator (Associated Since 2008)

  • 10 Years’ experience in training grass root level workers with NGO’s specially on Health and Education.
  • An experienced surveyor of qualitative and quantitative data through structured questionnaires as well as FGDs.
  • Surveys data Collection from various Govt project’s in Haryana, H.P., Chhattisgarh, M.P., Bihar, etc.
  • Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) in the area of Reproductive and Child Health( RCH), National Family Health Survey (NFHS), Education, Sanitation, Women Policy, etc.
  • Experienced both in Rural & Urban development projects.
  • Coordinating with NGO’s RWA and Citizens on various projects.

Vandana has a Post Graduate (History) and a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) from Rani Durgavati University, Jabalpur, (M.P.).

Vandana is ACORDASIA’s link with various NGOs and RWAs. She is also involved in field level training and capacity building in social sector.
